1 in 3 hispanic households don't have computer access1
Laptops for Latinas
As it is today, one in three Latinas households don’t have technology access and Latinas are significantly underrepresented in the computing industry. Jobs in technology are one of the fastest growing industries and a skills gap has created a high demand for workers with these skills.
The predictable future is that Latinas will continue to not join the computing workforce and therefore will miss out on the greatest economic opportunity that exists in this country. This opportunity is enlarged given the increased demand for diverse tech workers from corporations and the profound demographic shift that is taking place in the United States.
By providing laptops to Latinas, we create a new future for its recipient by providing tools and knowledge that can be applied to advance workforce development.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to provide refurbished laptops to Latina households in the West Side neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
